This film is an assembly of waves – “disturbances traveling through mediums.” A 16mm film of sunrise at a beach and audio recording of surf and wind is processed with an analog video/audio modular synthesizer. The synthesizer is orchestrated to activate cross modulations of image and sound feedback. These electrical signals generate randomizing, shifting colors, patterns, sounds, tonal variations and rhythms. During the performance the feedback loops are agitated by inserting my fingers within the closed-circuit feedback. The resulting live video/audio signal is recorded to video tape and transferred to digital formats via an AI program.
